Hélène Chartier

A trained engineer, Hélène stands out for her approach, which combines business development with marketing, business intelligence, and strategic planning. An innovation aficionado, she has worked in startups and large corporations, all of which shared a common desire to transform their industry through technology. She has held positions in North America and Europe.

Hélène sits on multiple executive boards of private companies and applied research organizations. Since 2022, she has sat on the board of Technosub, a water pumping and sustainable management company for the mining and industrial sectors; the board of EMKA Technologies, a provider of equipment for pre-clinical pulmonary and cardiovascular testing; as well as the board of Gecko Alliance, a company specializing in the manufacture of spa and hydrotherapy components. She also sits on the board of the Computer Research Institute of Montreal (CRIM), for which she chairs the Strategy Committee; the board of the Institut National d’Optique (INO), for which she presides over the Markets and Technologies Committee; and the board of Tremplin Santé, an NPO that promotes healthy lifestyle habits among young people from socially and financially disadvantaged backgrounds.

In her capacity as Executive Director of the QG100 Network from 2017 to 2022, Hélène headed up an organization bringing together the major CEOs of Quebec, who are leaders in their sectors on a global scale. On the back of content-rich events and networking opportunities, QG100 stimulates, inspires, and drives its members by keeping them informed of major trends in the business world.

Between 2006 and 2017, Hélène held the position of Vice-President, Strategy and Marketing at TELUS Santé. During her term in office, the company invested $1.6 billion in the development of health IT solutions and became the Canadian leader in the field. She steered strategic planning activities, directing the development and execution of marketing strategies as well as adoption campaigns for various technological solutions. She rolled out the company's data analytics activity in order to gain a better understanding of the patterns of use of software solutions, with a view to increasing their performance and improving customer satisfaction.

Hélène has also held numerous vice-presidential positions in sales, marketing, and product management within startups in the field of optics and electronics in Quebec (Mediatrix and Media5, Quelis RFID, ITF Technologies Optiques). She has sat on the boards of startups (Coractive, SPROUT), the Campus des Technologies de la Santé (CTS) accelerator, and MEDTEQ+, which is part of the sectoral industrial research groups of Quebec (RSRI).

Hélène lived abroad for 10 years in Europe and the Maghreb. She worked within the strategic marketing team and managed key accounts at Alcatel in France as well as Bell Canada International as part of a technology transfer contract in Morocco financed by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).

Hélène holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from École Polytechnique de Montréal and a master's degree in business administration from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France. She obtained her certification from the Institute of Corporate Directors (icd.d) in 2018.
