Philippe Boivin

Philippe Boivin has been Vice President of Corporate Affairs at INO since December 2009. Head of legal affairs, his mandate also includes the protection and management of intellectual property and the negotiation of technology transfers. He is also responsible of the incubator Quantino and the communications department, and serves as the company’s Secretary, and Safety and Security Officer.

Before joining INO, Mr. Boivin was a partner at McCarthy Tétrault, where he practiced for 15 years. His practice focused primarily on intellectual property and the law on technology, as well as the acquisition and financing of technology companies. He was also a registered trademark agent.

Throughout his career, he gave numerous lectures and published various articles on intellectual property and technology law, in addition to teaching at Université Laval. He has also served as an officer and director for various corporations. He is currently a board member of INRS, Chair of the Québec Chapter of the Licensing Executives Society, a member of Université Laval’s Innovation Protection Advisory Committee, a member of Axelys’ Development and Transfer Advisory Committee, and a board member of Théâtre Niveau Parking.

Mr. Boivin earned a bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Law at Université Laval in 1994 and was admitted to the Québec Bar in 1995. He is also a certified corporate director (ASC).
