Camera calibration is the process of estimating the intrinsic and extrinsic parameters of one or multiple cameras based on observations of a known physical target.
The intrinsic parameters model the internal geometry and optical characteristics of the image sensor. The extrinsic parameters measure the position and orientation of the camera in relation to a universal coordinate system in 3D space. Many computer vision applications make use of these parameters.
Our software platform helps to achieve reliable calibration of multiple cameras in a matter of minutes. It implements the entire calibration workflow, from automatic target detection and filtering to camera parameter estimation. Our platform is versatile and can be configured specifically to suit each application: number and types of cameras, target type, volume of interest, etc.
Solution include the following features:
Camera parameters are optimized through:
Specialized calibration targets are available upon request:
Our turnkey technology offers a simplified workflow and delivers concrete results. Results are obtained rapidly and our platform provides full coverage of the volume of interest as well as automated feedback on the quality of results, thanks to our automated process.
The software platform comes configured for a standard visible camera model and calibration target, but can be customized to meet your needs.
Applications:
A paper on the multi-waveband calibration target was presented at QIRT 2016: “Passive calibration board for alignment of VIS-NIR, SWIR, and LWIR images”.
